Ninoes Take Flight With New Set Of Wings It is the most remarkable
event in the life of a motowner, besides it gives the ninoes a chance
to exhibit their talents but unfortunately it occurs annually. On the 2nd November
at 5:45 the whole Assembly Hall was filled with students. There was confusion
everywhere about where the various houses would sit. Since it was a competition
there had to be a winner and a loser and everyone was talking with anticipation
making the whole place was rowdy. Finally the show was on the road and
the MC's introduced themselves as: Then they introduced
the judges: Mr. Ketu, Mr. Berdie, Mr. Zumanu and Mrs. Betty Osei amidst
other distinguished guests. The Chapel prefect was then called to say
a word of prayer to set the ball rolling. M'Carthy , the house of excellence
was the first to perform. They started with their Western dance and with
stars like Sharon, Liela, Samantha and Idayatu the Maca chicks were high
in spirit and performed to expectation.Their African dance was incredible
and also featured Harriet, Amerley and others. Next up was Gyamfi who
placed a minute ninoe in an open chopbox. This got people on the edge
of their seats and in great anxiety. The most interesting aspect of it
was when they pulled their chopbox stunt. This got people off the edge
of their seats screaming with utmost delight. They did quite well because
with lovers of music like 'tsotsoflotso', and 'Borlaray', we were expecting
something great. The last two houses
were the yellow bees of livingstone and Kingsley. They did very well especially
Livingstone who shocked the whole school because they hardly placed in
such events. Thumbs up Livingstone!! Kingsley house girls gave a unique
performance very different from what the others did. For their cultural
dance the girls themselves played the drums and sang their own song unlike
the others who danced to recorded music. What took the audience by surprise
was a ballet peformance by Esinam .She was fantastic. Their western dance
wasn't bad, but two categories they did not perform was miming and 'fooling'
(excessive comic relief). So I guess they lost marks there.
Infact the show was
so splendid that people remained in their seats and felt reluctant to
go back to their houses. This would surely be a night to remember |
