Boarding
life is an important ingredient in Achimota. The School has fourteen boarding
houses - eight for boys and six for girls. Each house has an average population
of 100 students who are supervised by two housestaffs. In the boarding houses
students learn to live together with one another. Junior students learn
from older students such things as washing, proper laying of beds, gardening
and good table manners. Many are the lifelong friendships that have developed
over the years between students of the same boarding houses.
