ACHIMOTA SCHOOL STUDENT’S REPRESENTATIVE COUNCIL

The Students Representative Council of Achimota Secondary School is the intermediary between the school administration and the student body. The SRC works in collaboration with the prefect body, seeking common interests of both the administration and the student body.
The SRC as a mother, must cater for the needs of the children and therefore tries to find solutions to some of the problems faced by the administration, and also, tries to make the lives of the students more comfortable.

The election of the representatives is done both by the out-goings representatives, the incoming prefects and the student body. There are various positions held in the SRC and an executive member serves a term of one year. Therefore, close to the end of the year, the outgoing representatives nominate students that they feel are likely to carry the duties and responsibilities of an executive member. After the nominations are made, the students are called together to vote for the people they feel are fit to take up the now existing positions.

Over the past years, the SRC has been able to accomplish many of its goals like organizing shows to raise funds for certain projects.
