The scripture union Ghana, which began 110 years ago was the first fruit of the dream of leaders in the Scripture union, UK The main aim of the group is to let the word of God be spread abroad amongst all men and to let the blessing of the life of Jesus be real in every Christian as the motto of the group, “Your word is a lamp onto my feet and a light onto my path, Psalm 119:105” makes clear.
The Achimota School Scripture Union is one of the many branches of the Scripture Union, Ghana. Formed in the year… the group up to 600 students, the group aims at making an impact in our generation through Christ 2 Timothy 4: 12. At the end of the year, therefore, it is expected that through the radiance of our lives, the school will be affected to go all out of God.
With a leadership of 25 executives 49 house reps and counselors, 10 patrons and having the message (SU singing ministry), Herald (Drama group), the evangelist committee the prayer force team and new converts department as further sub divisions, the Scripture Union is setting the pace in many aspects of school life
In accordance with the word that “we should not forsake the gathering of brethren”, the group meets every Wednesday afternoon between 4:45pm-6:00pm to fellowship through bible discussions, Quizzes and prayer meeting as well as coconut meetings. Occasionally seasoned men of God are invited to give talks at these meetings.In terms of numbers, Achimota School S.U is one of the largest in Ghana Praise God! The Achimota School S.U group also makes a good impact on S.U generally (in Ghana), in terms of financial contributions, for example of 27 schools in the Greater Accra Region that made contributions to the S.U (three gift day envelopes), in late 2001 Achimota S.U topped the list with 156 envelopes containing a total amount of 1,017,500.The next school submitted 66 envelopes containing a total of 234,000. These figures are not to suggest that Achimota School S.U is the richest or the best. God forbid! On the contrary, it is to demonstrate that we have in Achimota School S.U a group of the responsibility of the urgent need to contribute towards the spread of the gospel of Jesus Christ in our Land Ghana. The glory belongs to our Lord and Saviour.
The academic record of the members of the S.U is commendable since it is often from its members that the best grades of the SSCE stream from. The organization can boast of having 80% of the prefectorial board being members each and every year. This greatly contributes to the high level of discipline in the school. With the aid of the entertainment committee, Gospel Rocks are organized and these have helped raise the religious and moral standard of the students of the school. The journey however has not been without ups and downs but we have chosen to see the obstacles as stepping-stones to the greater glory.
As Achimota School celebrates its 75^th anniversary, the S.U thanks the Sovereign Lord and His son Jesus Christ (The foundation on whom the school was built), for helping us to chalk success upon successes.

We pray that the good Lord will also continue to help the S.U to move from victory to his own glory.
