ENTRTAINMENT IN ACHIMOTA

Entertainment ;according to the Collins Gem's dictionary is said to be an act of enjoying ones self after a lond day of hardwork or the act of amusing people in order to release tension after a day's work.Entertainment may be in so many forms such as musicals ,watching televion and dancing.
Motown's entertainment is extreaordinary as compared to ther schools in Ghana.We have so many kinds of entertainment as present in the school.
Entertainment is held every Saturday evening ,after supper ,in the Assembly hall .Sometimes ,it is held in the afternoon depending on the situation present .It may be in the form of gospel rock show, records night or a film show .Sometimes variety shows ,which involves the peformance of houses or individuals are held.
During Gospel rock shows ,the Christians amongst the students find it a time to praise God ,dance to his name and listen to the word of God.
This is done by musical groups outside the school .The number of active students increase by 20% whenever a film show is held .They find that more interesting compared to the Gospel rock show. Benches are carried to the hall by junior students whenever we have film shows .The film is always projected on the wall of the stage by a projector and large speakers are used .A film or movie is watched at a go and if there is more time,another is watched.
The most interesting entertainment ever in Achimota, which causes students excitement is records night. during this peroid of the week, students start preparing for it by washing this school uniforms well, ironing them properly and polish their shoes extremely well. Directly after school on Friday start discussing about the incoming entertainment. They struggle hard to find partners for the dance.
At supper that night, the dining hall is very noisy and some student choose not to eat because of their eagerness to dance. One can smell all kinds of perfumes on the compuond before the dance. Directly after supper, students rush to the assembly hall where DJ is already present preparing the place for the dance. Students then walk about smarrly to find their partners. The floor is usually opened by eager seniors who draw the rest of the students in.
The dance is usually vigorous and entertaining for those who aren't dancing. Those on the dance floor dance to their satisfaction and then take some before continuing.
Generally, entertainment ends at 9:00pm but for this night it usually goes on for bit longer. After entertainment all students go back to their houses and take some well deserved rest.
